ASTRONOMY (Ron Bagnall)
This new group aims to bring together local people with an interest in astronomy, to share knowledge and experience. All welcome, no telescope required. We plan to have 5 monthly day-time meetings, with occasional night-time observing sessions when conditions permit. Topics for discussion are likely to include local observing sites, astronomy software, amateur telescopes, and astrophotography. Monthly; Monday (third) 2:30 - 4:30pm; Eyemouth Community Centre.
FAMILY HISTORY "WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE" (Cath Lockett)
SOCIOLOGY - THE INDIVIDUAL, THE MARKET AND THE STATE (Gill Callaghan)
The group will consider the ideas about the role of individual, market and state that underpin policy making. It will examine views about appropriateness and balance in a range of areas such as education, health and care. Discussions could include - What is the purpose of education? How far can 'the community' be relied on to replace the state in social care?

This group will explore aspects of world religions especially Hindu, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Specific discussion will be tailored to the interests of group members.
